Though the grand-opening of the new Ison Marine/Cigarette Racing Kentucky facility won’t happen until June, company principals Paul and Tiffany Ison aren’t waiting for brick-and-mortar completion to continue building their multi-brand dealership’s product line. Earlier this week, they visited Hellkats Powerboats in Miami.
Now they are almost home with a new 32-foot Hellkats catamaran as demo boat for the summer. Ison Marine has taken on the Hellkats line to complement its Cigarette and GSX/Glasstream offerings.
Ison Marine is the catamaran builder’s first dealership. It will cover the Kentucky and Tennessee regions for the company
Starting with the Kuttawa Cannonball Run in Old Kuttawa, Ky., later this month, the couple will showcase the carbon fiber catamaran at go-fast boating events throughout the season.
Ison Marine also will have a new Cigarette 41 Nighthawk center console and a GSX 28 center console—currently being painted at Stephen Miles Design—at the ninth annual Kuttawa happening.
Chad Montgomery of the Kentucky-based Fast Quotes For Fast Boats insurance outfit referred the Isons to the Hellkats team.
“Hellkats builds a great boat with a lot of great options, and they do a lot with carbon fiber,” said Tiffany Ison. “You couldn’t ask for a nicer and more accommodating group of people to work with. We asked for a few changes on the 32 and they made them before we left with it. The boat is immaculate.”
Twin Mercury Racing 300R outboard engines power the 32-foot catamaran. The dealership also will offer the boat with a pair of 400R outboards. (Buyers who prefer 500Rs will need to contact the factory directly.) With the 300R mills, the boat has topped out at 108 mph.
The team at Hellkats Powerboats is equally delighted with the new relationship.
“We met Paul and Tiffany at the (Florida Powerboat Club) Miami Boat Show Poker Run this year and a few times since,” said Briland Hays, the president and owner of the company. “They are fairly new to the game as we are, but they are great people and they have been in the poker-run world for a long time.
“It’s huge for us,” he added. “Tiffany is super-charismatic—she’s a great salesperson. It was almost a no-brainer for us.”
Ison Marine also has expanded its product offerings beyond powerboat brands. The company recently became a HydraFoam decking and Poly-Lift Boat Lifts dealer.
